About the Chorus

The Somerville Community Chorus is a nonprofit arts corporation, based in Somerville Massachusetts and committed to providing music and culture to the community. The Chorus was founded in 1985 by a group of teachers from the Somerville school system. The Chorus has grown into a diverse ensemble of male and female vocalists who sing together for the pure joy of it.

The Chorus rehearses once a week for two hours each Tuesday night from September to December and from January to May. Two formal concerts are scheduled each year, one during the holiday season in December and on during the spring in May. You do not need to commit to both seasons in order to join.

We are in partnership with the City Of Somerville to provide free music at select city events and adult care settings.
