100+ voices, SATB, Newton Community Chorus is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to educate its members in singing choral music, to encourage public understanding and appreciation of choral music as an art form, and to provide singers at all levels with equal opportunity to improve their vocal skills and participate in public performances of challenging choral works from the traditional and contemporary repertoire.

Typically our concerts are with full orchestra and professional soloists. For our Bernstein concert on February 1, 2014, we will feature a boy soloist and four soloists from our chorus, as well as harp, percussion, wind instruments, piano, and organ.in the Chichester Psalms and orchestra and four professional soloists for the Mass. Our Hayden, Lord Nelson Mass on May 10, 2014, will be full orchestra and four professional soloists.
Fall and Spring Sessions with modest dues to cover music and orchetral/soloist costs. All rehearsals on Monday evenings 7:30 – 9:30 starting in September and ending in June held at Newton Country Day School,785 Centre Street, Newton, MA with ample free parking. Light snack & social break around 8:00 PM.
