Dedham Choral Society

80 voices, SATB, one of the Boston area’s premier community choruses with members from more than 20 cities and towns.

Performs a wide variety of choral works in the original language and with the original orchestration.

DCS performs twice a year, in December at Holy Name Church, West Roxbury, and in April in Boston at NEC’s Jordan Hall. On December 1, 2017 we will perform “A New England Nativity”, a program of works by John Knowles Paine and Randall Thompson. On April 29, 2018 we will perform Johann Michael Haydn’s “St. Ursula” Mass and Mozart’s “Vesperae Solennes de Confessore”, KV 339.

Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. at Allin Church, 683 High Street, Dedham. Open rehearsals will take place September 13 and 20 for prospective members to join in singing and to schedule an audition.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear the 100 voices of DCS, accompanied by full orchestra and organ, performing musical settings of the Nativity story, words by John Milton and St. Luke, set to music by Cambridge composers John Knowles Paine and Randall Thompson.  A special treat will be three sing-along carols, all with Massachusetts connections: "Joy to the World," "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and the festive "Jingle, Bells."
