Event Information:
The Oriana Consort seeks experienced singers in all voice parts to join us for performances, on March 16, 22, and 24, of choral works by Charles Villiers Stanford, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Adolphus Hailstork, Josiah Alwood, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Laura Mvula, Karen Marrolli, Henry Purcell, and G. F. Handel. Sunday evening rehearsals in Cambridge begin January 21. Oriana is an accomplished chorale with an eclectic repertory, enthusiastic audiences, and a warm and attractive sound: listen to us at www.orianaconsort.org – click/tap LISTEN. We seek good-to-excellent readers with clear, center-of-the-pitch voices that work well with the group. Our soloists are always drawn from our membership. To schedule a half-hour audition in Cambridge from 2:30 to 4:00 pm on January 13, 14, 20, or 27, please email Oriana’s director, Walter Chapin, at director@orianaconsort.org, summarizing your choral experience. For your audition you’ll join a quartet of Oriana members to read excerpts from our recent repertory and to sing a brief but fairly difficult choral part that we’ll ask you to prepare during the two days before your audition. Please bring a solo – which an Oriana member will be glad to accompany – that shows off your voice at its best: your choice of length, genre, difficulty.
