Oriana Consort Auditions
Thu, January 10 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EST
The Oriana Consort seeks experienced singers in all voice parts to join our choral group for performances on March 22, 24, and 30 of a program to include J. S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 150 Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich; Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Missa O magnum mysterium; John Rutter’s My true love hath my heart; Draw on, sweet night; It was a lover and his lass (from the Birthday Madrigals, 1995); and the premiere of a new work by Oriana member Frank S. Li. Sunday evening rehearsals at University Lutheran Church, Cambridge, begin January 13. Oriana is an accomplished chorale with an eclectic repertory, enthusiastic audiences, and a warm and attractive sound. Visit www.orianaconsort.org and click LISTEN to hear our audio clips. We seek good-to-excellent readers with clear, center-of-the-pitch voices that work well with the group. Soloists are always drawn from the membership. To schedule a half-hour audition in Cambridge, please email Walter Chapin at firstname.lastname@example.org, summarizing your choral and solo experience. You’ll join a quartet of Oriana members to read excerpts from our repertory and sing a brief but difficult choral part that you’ll prepare two days in advance. Bring a solo of your choice. Audition dates are not limited to the listings on this calendar; another date can be arranged if needed.
