Masterworks Chorale presents Mozart’s Requiem & Michael Schachter’s Uriel
Sat, November 10 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm$5
Experience Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s powerful Requiem, in the version completed by musicologist and keyboardist Robert Levin, and the Boston-Cambridge premiere of Michael Schachter’s Uriel. A native of Westborough, Schachter composed his setting of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s poem as a dramatic complement to the Mozart Requiem.
Kevin Leong conducts the 70-voice Masterworks Chorale and a professional orchestra on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 8:00 PM at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre (45 Quincy Street) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The concert features a superb quartet of Boston-based soloists: soprano Susan Consoli, mezzo-soprano Roselin Osser, tenor Charles Blandy, and baritone Thomas Jones.
A pre-concert talk by Dr. Laura Stanfield Prichard precedes the concert at 7:30 PM. Dr. Prichard is a regular pre-concert speaker and writer for the San Francisco and Chicago Symphonies and is the Principal Lecturer for Boston Baroque and Boston Opera Collaborative.
Tickets are $50, $35, and $20 and can be purchased online at www.masterworkschorale.org/concerts/tickets. $5 Student Rush Tickets may be purchased 90 minutes prior to the performance, as available. Ample free parking is available in the garage at 7 Felton Street, between Broadway and Cambridge Streets. A Harvard Square restaurant is offering a dining special before and after the concert. Those presenting a Masterworks Chorale concert ticket or Will Call Ticket Voucher to Grafton Street Pub and Grill will receive a complimentary dessert with the purchase of an entree. Reservations are recommended.
