Coro Allegro Auditions for Tenors and Basses
Sat, September 23, 2017 @ 8:00 am - Sat, October 21, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
Coro Allegro, a chorus for members and friends of the LGBTQ+ communities, affirms, strengthens, and enriches the lives of its members and the broader community through the presentation of outstanding performances of classical choral music.
Coro Allegro was founded in 1990 to provide Boston with a LGBT chorus specializing in classical repertoire. Initially composed of 20 singers, Coro has grown to more than 60 members, and under the direction of David Hodgkins it has become one of Boston’s most highly regarded choral ensembles.
Coro Allegro is seeking experienced tenor and bass choral singers. To schedule an audition, please use this audition form or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Auditions this year will be held at the Church of the Covenant. The audition takes about 15 minutes and consists of a range check, vocalizing, pitch recognition exercises, and sight-singing. You do not need to prepare a solo piece.
Coro Allegro rehearses most Sunday evenings from 5:45pm to 9pm in Bates Hall in the basement of Church of the Covenant, located at 67 Newbury Street (corner of Berkeley Street) in Boston’s Back Bay. We rehearse on Monday evenings during long weekends (Monday holidays).
If your audition for Coro is successful, you will be expected to sing in all concerts for the year. Please review the our membership page for more information about singer responsibilities.
