MEETING NOTICE

April 2008

Hello members,

Our next meeting is Wednesday April 23 at 4:00 pm in the Tyler Room at Episcopal Divinity School (see directions below).

For our April meeting, we are putting together a panel on Chorus Collaborations. Our lead panelist will be Don Teeters, the music director and conductor of Boston Cecilia, who will share his experiences leading a variety of collaborative concerts and exchanges.

Please come ready to share your own experiences regarding collaboration with other choral groups, other musical institutions, and community groups. What helps ensure a successful partnership and what are some pitfalls to avoid? We look forward to learning with you.

By T, take the Red Line to Harvard Square. If you've come out of the Church St. exit, walk down Church St. and take a right onto Brattle St. Walk down Brattle St, on the right side of the street. You'll pass the American Repertory Theatre on your left. Cross Mason St. and you'll see a quadrangle of granite buildings and archways on the right side of Brattle, at the intersection of Mason. Look for signs for the GBCC meeting; Anne Reece always does a great job of posting them! By car, look for street parking or lots such as the Church Street lot or University Place Garage near the Charles Hotel.

NOTES ON PROMOTIONAL PROGRAMS:
The 2008 deadline for inclusion in GBCC promotions (Program Inserts, VIP Cards, and Globe Ad) is August 1, 2008. Mark your calendars NOW. Use this as an incentive to plan your season early. Note that your event entries on the GBCC website may be updated at any time using the forms on the “Member Notes” section of the website.

Text to be included in your concert programs: "(Your Chorus Name) is a member of the Greater Boston Choral Consortium, a cooperative association of diverse choral groups in Boston and the surrounding areas."

CANCELLATION OF GBCC MEETINGS DUE TO WEATHER: Should the weather look threatening, the officers will make a decision by 1:00 p.m. the day of the meeting about whether or not to hold the meeting. In the event of cancellation, check the e-list first; I will send out a notice via the Yahoo group. If you have no access to the internet, you may call the office of the Boston Gay Men's Chorus, 617-542-7464, where a person or a message will alert you if there is a cancellation.
