Somerville Community Chorus, David Giessow, Music Director
Somerville Community Chorus welcomes you to our fall season open rehearsals. Join us as we celebrate our 25th anniversary year! Auditions are not required. All voices are welcome, especially Tenors and Basses! For the fall season, we will be singing pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, including Magnificat, Op. 69, No. 3, and traditional Christmas and Hanukah songs. Weekly rehearsals are held every Tuesday, 7:30-9:30pm on the second floor of the Tufts Administration Building, located at 167 Holland Street, about half-way from Davis Square to Teele Square. At the open rehearsals, you can learn about the music for the season, meet other members, enjoy free refreshments, sing, and sing some more. Attend one open rehearsal date or both dates. The Tufts Administration Building is a 5 minute walk from the Davis Square T and parking is available. Enter the building through the Holland Street entrance. Once up the stairs, turn left, walk to end of hallway then make another left.

Polymnia Choral Society invites you to join us for open rehearsals for its 2009-2010 season. The Heritage Chorale will be hosting two open rehearsals for prospective new members on Tuesday evenings, September 8th and 15th, at 7:45. We meet at First Parish in Framingham, 24 Vernon Street, Framingham Centre. (Directions: route 9 west to Edgell Road north, turn left after the historic town green.) Please come and sing with us! Koleinu, Boston’s Jewish Community Chorus, invites you to join us as we begin our 8th season on Thursday, September 10, 2009. Koleinu, a non-audition group of 60+ members who love learning and singing Jewish music together, is directed by our dynamic and skilled conductor, Carol Marton. Koleinu meets Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9:45 PM at Hebrew College, 160 Herrick Rd. in Newton Centre. Our first three rehearsals are open, so why not give us a try? No pressure to join; no prior musical or Jewish experience necessary. Open rehearsals will be held on 9/10, 9/17, and 9/24 in Hebrew College (kosher snacks and camaraderie provided). The Concord Chorus, an 80-voice SATB community chorus with professional standards, will hold auditions for all voice parts. Coolidge Corner Community Chorus, Lee Colby Wilson, Artistic Director
The Coolidge Corner Community Chorus starts their 14th season with a rehearsal on Wednesday, Sept 16th from 7:15-9:15pm at the Devotion School in Brookline. This non-auditioned group meets every Wednesday evening through June under the direction of Lee Colby Wilson. This season's theme is "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik- A Little Night Music" featuring Mozart's Vespers; In Stiller Nacht by Brahms; Sure on this Shining Night by Lauridsen and selections from Bach's Wachet Auf and Durufle's Requiem. There are no auditions required to join the CCCC, and so singers of all choral backgrounds are welcomed to give the chorus a try. Weekly Wednesday rehearsals offer a collaborative environment with the more experienced singers working with and helping those new to the group. Prospective members are encouraged to attend the open rehearsals on September 16th, 23rd and 30th to experience the CCCC for themselves.
