Koleinu, Boston's Jewish Community Chorus, holding open rehearsals. Repertoire of Jewish choral music includes liturgical, secular, contemporary, and classical selections. All voices are welcome; no audition required. Music provided. Try us out on Thursday October 11 and October 18 at Hebrew College, 160 Herrick Road, Newton Centre, Massachusetts; On the Green Line, Plenty of Parking. Zamir Chorale of Boston
Israel Prize winners, The Gevatron: The Israeli Kibbutz Singers, will perform with America 's foremost Jewish choral ensemble, the Zamir Chorale of Boston, on Thursday evening, October 18, 7:30 pm at Congregation Kehillath Israel in Brookline. The Israel Prize is the most prestigious award handed out by the State of Israel and is presented annually for distinguished achievement in scholarship, the arts, or public service. Those Were the Days – These Are the Songs is sponsored by the Zamir Chorale of Boston and the Jewish Agency; and cosponsored by the Israeli Consulate of Boston and Combined Jewish Philanthropies. Exsultemus with Catherine Liddell, lute. Songs and Lute Solos of 17th-Century France: Renowned lutenist Catherine Liddell joins five artful singers from Exsultemus for an eye-opening program of charming "airs de cour" and lute solos from one of France's richest musical periods, with works by Costeley, de Courville, Mauduit, Moulinié, and Le Jeune.
