The Wellesley Choral Society presents Trio Viscaria and Edward Whalen in recital. Trio Viscaria, (Monica Pegis, violin; David Fisher, cello; Hisako Hiratsuka, piano) offer Dvorak Piano Trio, O.90 "Dumky." Edward Whalen performs Rafe Vaughan Williams' Songs of Travel." Boston Saengerfest Men's Chorus,  Michael Driscoll, Music Director
As part of Saengerfest’s educational mission, we are once again hosting a festival of male voices featuring Saengerfest and the young male singers from local schools and organizations. Hear each choir perform alone and then enjoy the thrilling sound of over 150 men singing together on stage!  This year’s guest groups are the Natick High School Men’s Choir directed by Tyler Turner, the Boston Children’s Chorus Young Men’s Ensemble directed by Anthony Trecek-King, the WPI Men’s Glee Club directed by John Delorey, and WPI’s Simple Harmonic Motion a cappella ensemble. The 34 singers of the Oriana Consort present “A Choral Odyssey: Music of Germany and America”. The choir and soloists will perform J. S. Bach’s motet “Fürchte dich nicht”, Felix Mendelssohn’s “Te Deum”, the “Gloria” from Paul Hindemith’s “Messe”, the chorus “So gehe hin” from G. P. Telemann’s “Jauchze, jubiliere, und singe”, Samuel Barber’s “Agnus Dei”, three choruses from Irving Fine’s “The Hour-Glass”, Leonard Bernstein’s choruses from “The Lark”, and Eric Whitacre’s “Water Night”. This July, Oriana will present the same program of German and American choral music in Frankfurt and Leipzig. University Lutheran Church, 66 Winthrop Street, Cambridge (2 blocks from Harvard Square). And the two World Premieres of "We Sing" written especially for the ensemble by Nick Page and Brian Tate will raise the roof! Program includes: Randall Thompson's choral al classic "Allelulia"; Billy Joel's "Longest Time"; Gwenyth Walker's "How Can I Keep from Singing"; The Wailin' Jennies' "One Voice"; Rollo Dilworth's Gospel-tinged "Hand in Hand," and traditional songs and tribal chants from Senegal, Japan, Israel, Venezuela, and the Congo.
