20-voice SATB choir specializing in early polyphony.

Vocal music from early renaissance to early baroque  (roughly Dufay to Schütz). We do occasionally collaborate with  instruments for special performances.

Convivium prepares two programs per year, each with 3-4  concerts. We try to hold one concert per program "centrally" - Boston,  Cambridge, or Brookline - and one "away" in Hamilton, Worcester, or  other under-served locations. Programs are typically late January and  early May, and we do participate in the BEMF fringe concerts.

Wednesdays, 7-9:30 pm, St. Johns Church, 22 Devens St,  Charlestown. September - May.

Our Winter 2009 program features music of Tallis and Byrd,  from the 1575 Cantiones; in Spring 2009 we will focus on music from  the Dresden court around 1615, with works of Hassler, Praetorius, and  Schuetz.
